The sultanate’s Embassy in Korea recently participated in the first Public Diplomacy Week organised by the Korean Cultural Foundation over three days.

It included lectures and seminars on public diplomacy, photo exhibitions and various activities of Korean institutions. It also included an exhibition of diplomatic missions.

The embassy’s pavilion embodied the sultanate’s approach to public diplomacy.

A poster exhibition inside the pavilion displayed the Islamic message of tolerance, understanding and co-existence, and the approach of the sultanate in spreading the values of love and peace. The embassy pavilion also included various books on the sultanate, various tourist maps and heritage exhibits.

H E Mohammed bin Salim al Harthy, sultanate’s ambassador, delivered a lecture at the University of Awha, where he gave an overview of the sultanate, its historical and cultural aspects, and the role of the sultanate in world trade and the Silk Road over the ages.

H E Harthy said,

“Within the framework of the embassy’s efforts in public diplomacy, it aims at introducing the sultanate and highlighting the historical, cultural and heritage aspects of the Blessed Renaissance and the sultanate’s approach to tolerance, coexistence.”
